How professors are added and sourced on Kemon Poray
Kemon Poray editorial guidance · Last reviewed
Professor pages combine directory facts with student feedback. The name, department and designation come from catalog records; scores and written reviews come from contributions. These have different evidence. Checking an official faculty page supports the directory entry, not a claim that its student reviews are correct.
Start with the university and department
An entry belongs to a university and department, and its public URL includes that context plus a stable professor number. Similar names can belong to different people. The department number distinguishes entries within that department. Do not treat a name match alone as enough evidence to combine two faculty records.
Know what the source states mean
A verified source identifies an official professor profile. A listing source identifies a faculty listing rather than an individual profile. Source pending means the directory entry lacks that checked provenance. Where an official page is available, the professor name links to it. A badge describes catalog sourcing, not verified student enrollment or endorsement by the university.
Use the official page for current appointments
Faculty can change departments, titles or institutions. A stored designation may become outdated after a source check. Follow the official profile or faculty listing for the current appointment. A source-check date, when shown, records when the source was checked; it does not promise that the university's page has remained unchanged since then.
Suggest evidence rather than a biography
For a source-pending entry, eligible signed-in users can suggest an official source through the existing source controls. Use the university's HTTPS faculty listing or individual profile. Avoid social media, copied biographies and general homepages that do not identify the faculty member. A suggestion is evidence for review, not an automatic public correction.
Correct errors without creating competing profiles
If a name, department or designation looks wrong, report the entry with its official source. Do not submit a second rating under a different spelling to correct catalog data. Catalog corrections should preserve identity and canonical links. Student feedback stays separate from the decision about which faculty member an entry identifies.
Privacy and contributing
Public ratings and reviews do not display your email or account label. Account associations remain privately stored to prevent duplicates and control abuse. Google sign-in and a permanent university and department assignment do not prove enrollment. Only rate professors you have studied with and are eligible to rate through the existing account rules.
Find a professor and share your experience
Open a professor page, choose Rate professor, and follow the sign-in and affiliation steps. Written reviews use the existing rating flow and moderation rules.
